Specialty Services

Southern Testing and Research Laboratories is a multi-disciplinary laboratory that provides analytical chemistry and microbiology testing and research support services to clients not only in the pharmaceutical industry, but also in the agrochemical, foods, and environmental industries. Many of the technologies used in primary support of other disciplines are also used to directly benefit our pharmaceutical clients in more specialized applications.

For example, our experience in trace metal analysis for the environmental industry gives us a range of technologies and expertise that we have applied to determining trace metals in raw materials, or active ingredients in nutritional supplements. Our experience with on-site sampling and environmental surveys of food manufacturing plants in industrial hygiene process control applications serves us well in performing similar services for our pharmaceutical clients. And our experience in pesticide residue determinations in agrochemical applications gives us unique capabilities for chromatographic identification of trace level contaminants.

Moreover, Southern Testing has worked with its pharmaceutical clients in applications beyond the typical compendial monograph project or method transfer. We have executed chemical and physical tests on problematic production samples. We've developed specific extraction and assay methods for cleaning validation applications. And our work with the USP and pharmaceutical clients has resulted in our becoming a leading laboratory in the industry in the testing of nutritional supplements.

Southern Testing's diversity enables us to provide our clients with a range of complementary skills, instrumentation, and perspectives to solving their more challenging problems.
